Put water and Crisco over fire and bring to boiling point. Add flour and cook, stirring constantly until mixture leaves sides of pan. Cool, add eggs one at a time, beating well after each egg is added. Add mashed potatoes, salt and pepper to this mixture. Drop by spoonfull in hot Crisco and fry for 8 to 10 minutes. Note: Crisco is a tradename for hydrogenated vegetable shortening. Any good grade of same should work just fine. No temperature for the frying was Lima Grange, Mahoning County, OH
