Recipe 4 All: Sauerkraut Casserole Recipe

Sauerkraut Casserole

Yield: 6 Servings
1lb Italian sausage, mild
1lg Onion;-chopped
2  Apples; peeled and quartered
1package Sauerkraut; undrained, 32 oz
1cups Water
½cups Brown sugar
2teaspoon Caraway seed

In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until sausage is brown and onion is tender; drain. If using pork chops, brown and partially cook for about 10 minutes.

Stir in apples, sauerkraut, water, brown sugar and caraway seed. Transfer to a 2-½ quart baking dish.

Cover and bake at 350F for 1 hour. Garnish with snipped parsley if desired.
